Abstract

This paper deals with a comparative analysis of the self-image of Polish and Ukrainian youth participating in the finals of the International Parafiada for Children and Youth in Warsaw. The realization of the goal is reflected in the subsequent parts of the work, illustrating the genesis of the parish idea, which shows the promotion of sport in faith as a part of culture and an inseparable element of human development in the service of peace and brotherhood. He also notices the importance of sport in the concept of the Church and John Paul II in the universal building of the inner harmony of the human spirit and fraternal relations between people, and explains what sport is for a young person. We will also find answers to the questions of what is the development of personality, what are its components and what are their characteristics. The main problems and goals of the work were also presented, the method used was described and the group on which the research was carried out in this work was characterized, but also attention was paid to the research results and their interpretation. The whole work shows a real and ideal picture of himself, of young people from Poland and Ukraine. The structure of your self-image consists of a set of beliefs about yourself. These are beliefs about the body – appearance, attractiveness, health, physical fitness, manual dexterity, mental characteristics-intelligence, personality, social relations with family, friends, employees, lecturers. Self-image is a relatively constant set of features, which means that it is possible to make changes in it. A change in the image of oneself, and thus in the behavior and functioning of a person, can be made by entering into a relationship with another person. In addition, it reflects the rightness of promoting physical culture among children and adolescents, and the role in the understanding of the Catholic Church. Sport plays an important role in both large and small communities and it significantly influences the full physical and spiritual development of a person, starting from an early age.
